Executive Director

Steve Yarbrough has enjoyed a highly successful career in education, family law, public policy creation, and organizational leadership. As a passionate proponent of Christian education he co-founded ACSTO in 1998 and continues to serve as its executive director.

He has served in the Arizona Legislature since 2003 where he has been Chairman of the Ways & Means Committee, Speaker Pro Tempore, and Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee. He is recognized in Arizona and nationally as a leading advocate for pro-school choice policy innovation.

He and his wife Linda, a longtime Christian school teacher, have three adult sons and eight grandchildren. All of their grandchildren attend Christian schools in Arizona or Tennessee.

 

Eileen Edmondson

Office Administrator

Eileen has been the Office Administrator at ACSTO since 1999. She has been happily married for 31 years, has three wonderful children, and two absolutely adorable grandchildren. She loves to travel with her husband Bob, who was a pastor for 25 years, and currently trains indigenous pastors in Asia. She attends Mission Community Church, and in her spare time, she loves to go hiking, and play the piano.

 

Amy Hawkinson

Administrative Assistant / Coordinator

Amy has been serving ACSTO since 2006. She has lived in Arizona since 1985, and she graduated from ASU with a degree in communications. She has been happily married for 12 years, and has a 7 year old daughter who currently attends a local Christian school. She loves spending time with her family and friends, especially if that includes dessert or Mexican food. Amy assists our donors and parents on the phone, performs administrative duties, and is a coordinator for churches and schools across the valley.

Tommy Smith

Marketing and Communications Manager

Tommy started working at ACSTO in April 2012. He graduated from Valley Christian High School, then interned in Student Ministry at Sun Valley Community Church. He then founded his own graphic design and marketing company, and has worked for financial institutions, schools, churches, and more. Tommy currently attends church at Sun Valley's Gilbert Campus.

 

Loren Rugen

Copywriter / Coordinator / Office Assistant

Loren has been working with ACSTO since 2009 and spends most of his time enjoying special projects, research, and assisting our donors and parents on the phone. He graduated from Moody Bible Institute in downtown Chicago with his wife Rachel before moving to the Arizona in 2009. They currently attend Mission Community Church in Gilbert. Loren and Rachel thoroughly enjoy being the parents of their mischievous toddler son.

 

Amber Ronan

Credit Card Specialist

Amber has been working at ACSTO since January of 2013. She was born and raised in Arizona, and currently attends Sun Valley Community Church. In her spare time she loves to play sand volleyball and hang out with her little sister. Her chief duty is with credit card processing and data entry, as well as assisting our donors and parents on the phone.

Maryellen has been an ACSTO coordinator for many years,
working with schools and churches across the valley.

Southern Arizona Coordinator

Tom has been an ACSTO coordinator for many years,
covering schools and churches across the greater Tucson area.

 

Jeanette

Office Assistant

Jeanette has filled many hats during her eight years at ACSTO, specializing as a secretary and personal assistant for Steve. Her other responsibilities include assisting our donors and parents on the phone and helping to coordinate our annual church & school mailings and meetings.

 

Merilyn

Office Assistant / Application Wrangler

Merilyn is enjoying her fourth year working for ACSTO. While she specializes in processing our student's scholarship applications, Merilyn is eager to help with virtually anything that is needed.
