Meet Our Staff
ACSTO is privileged to have a dedicated and talented staff. We work together to provide the remarkable customer service ACSTO is known for all year round, and we make it a matter of personal responsibility to provide you with valuable resources as well as accurate and timely processing of your donations and/or applications.
Board of Directors
Scott R. Saunders
Steve Yarbrough has enjoyed a highly successful career in education, family law, public policy creation, and organizational leadership. As a passionate proponent of Christian Education, he co-founded ACSTO in 1998 and continues to serve as its executive director.
He has served in the Arizona Legislature since 2003 where he has been Chairman of the Ways & Means Committee, Speaker Pro Tempore, and Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee. He is recognized in Arizona and nationally as a leading advocate for pro-school choice policy innovation.
He and his wife Linda, a longtime Christian school teacher, have three adult sons and eight grandchildren. All of their grandchildren attend Christian schools in Arizona or Tennessee.
Assistant Executive Director
Eileen has been an extremely capable administrator at ACSTO since 1999. She has been happily married for 31 years, has three wonderful children and three absolutely adorable grandchildren. She loves to travel with her husband Bob, who was a pastor for 25 years, and currently trains indigenous pastors in Asia. She attends Mission Community Church, and in her spare time, she loves to go hiking and play the piano.
Data Processing Manager
Amy has been serving ACSTO since 2006. She has lived in Arizona since 1985, and she graduated from ASU with a degree in communications. She has been happily married for 14 years and has a daughter who currently attends a local Christian school. She loves spending time with her family and friends, especially if that includes dessert or Mexican food. Amy supervises projects and staff, manages finances, and assists our donors and parents on the phone.
Marketing and Communications Manager
Sally has recently taken up the position as ACSTO's Marketing and Communications Manager and has
Loren began his ACSTO journey in 2009 and enjoys fulfilling the organization's writing, editing, and online development needs. He graduated from Moody Bible Institute in downtown Chicago with his wife Rachel before moving to the desert. In his downtime he enjoys an eclectic variety of hobbies, including hiking, entomology, reading & writing, and letting his inner child out with his toddler.
Credit Card Specialist
Matthew began working for ACSTO in 2013. He has been assisting customers over the phone and specializing in credit card processing. Currently, he attends and volunteers at Sun Valley Church in Gilbert. In his spare time, he pursues various musical and auto-mechanic endeavors and spends time with his friends, fiancé, and family.
Customer Service Specialist
Wendy is the newest member to the ACSTO family. She has lived in the valley since 1971, graduated from ASU in 2006 in Graphic Information Technology, is happily married to a wonderful man for 32 years, and has two adult children. Wendy attends Arizona Community Church and serves in their Music Ministries as a vocalist. She has used her computer skills to meet specific needs on three short-term mission trips and hopes for more. In her spare time she loves to crochet and learn about new technology.
Central Valley Coordinator
Maryellen has been an ACSTO coordinator for the past 8 years. She is married to Bruce, and they have 2 children and 4 grandchildren. As her schools and churches, or anyone who knows Maryellen, will tell you, her warm, friendly personality is only matched by how passionate she is about Christian Education and desire to help as many people as possible learn about the Az State Tax Credit and how ACSTO can make it work for them.
Southern Arizona Coordinator
Dr. Tom Askew has been a Christian educator for over forty years, both in the U.S. and overseas. His favorite subjects to teach are English, Latin, and Bible. He offers his expertise on Christian Education through a variety of non-profit, radio, administrative, and publishing roles. Since 2007, he has represented ACSTO to churches and schools in Pinal, Pima, Graham, and Cochise counties.
North Valley Coordinator
With the development of ACSTO workshops for schools and parents, and the increasing need to provide even better service for all our partners, we have added another coordinator to our team. Steve is already experienced with Arizona tax credits as the Development Officer for School Choice Arizona, and possess the detail orientation necessary to explain both the individual and the corporate tax credits clearly. His desire to see all Arizona children succeed is evidenced in his work and in his family life as a parent and foster parent.
Jeanette has filled many hats during her nine years at ACSTO. She checks for accurate data processing, supports our staff with various office tasks, and is also part of our team who provides ACSTO customer service to our donors, parents, and schools, helping to ensure that everyone has a wonderful experience with our organization.
Scholarship Application Specialist
Merilyn is enjoying her eighth year working for ACSTO. While she specializes in processing our student's scholarship applications, Merilyn is eager to help with virtually anything that is needed. Her smile and wit cheers the office every day.
Customer Service Specialist
Leah has proven her prowess in all things, from neat photography to problem-solving to the telling of a hilarious story. Our Customer Service Specialists help with donation and application processing, provide customer service, and help with general office tasks.
