Steve Yarbrough
Executive Director

Steve Yarbrough has enjoyed a highly successful career in education, family law, public policy creation, and organizational leadership. As a passionate proponent of Christian education he co-founded ACSTO in 1998 and continues to serve as its executive director.

Steve YarbroughHe has served in the Arizona Legislature since 2003 where he has been Chairman of the Ways & Means Committee, Speaker Pro Tempore, and Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee. He is recognized in Arizona and nationally as a leading advocate for pro-school choice policy innovation.

He and his wife Linda, a longtime Christian school teacher, have three adult sons and eight grandchildren. All of their grandchildren attend Christian schools in Arizona or Tennessee.


EileenEileen Edmondson
Assistant Executive Director

Eileen has been an extremely capable administrator at ACSTO since 1999. She has been happily married for 31 years, has three wonderful children, and two absolutely adorable grandchildren. She loves to travel with her husband Bob, who was a pastor for 25 years, and currently trains indigenous pastors in Asia. She attends Mission Community Church, and in her spare time, she loves to go hiking, and play the piano.

Data Processing Manager

Amy has been serving ACSTO since 2006. She has lived in Arizona since 1985, and she graduated from ASU with a degree in communications. She has been happily married for 12 years, and has a 7 year old daughter who currently attends a local Christian school. She loves spending time with her family and friends, especially if that includes dessert or Mexican food. Amy supervises projects and staff, manages finances, and assists our donors and parents on the phone.

Tommy SmithTommy Smith
Marketing and Communications Manager

Tommy started working at ACSTO in April 2012. He graduated from Valley Christian High School, then interned in Student Ministry at Sun Valley Community Church. He then founded his own graphic design and marketing company, and has worked for financial institutions, schools, churches, and more. Tommy currently attends church at Sun Valley's Gilbert Campus.


Loren RugenLoren Rugen
Check Specialist / Content Creator

Loren has been working with ACSTO since 2009 and spends most of his time enjoying special projects, check processing, copywriting, and assisting our donors and parents on the phone. He graduated from Moody Bible Institute in downtown Chicago with his wife Rachel before moving to the Arizona in 2009. They currently attend Mission Community Church in Gilbert. Loren and Rachel thoroughly enjoy being the parents of their mischievous toddler son.


AmberAmber Ronan
Credit Card Specialist

Amber has been working at ACSTO since January of 2013. She was born and raised in Arizona, and currently attends Sun Valley Community Church. In her spare time she loves to play sand volleyball and hang out with her little sister. Her chief duty is with credit card processing and data entry, as well as assisting our donors and parents on the phone.

Central Arizona Coordinator

Sally is ACSTO's newest Coordinator, and has already been seen far and wide across the valley at church and school events. We are grateful to have her experience and enthusiasm on the team!


Tom Askew
Southern Arizona Coordinator

Tom has been an active ACSTO coordinator for many, many years,
assisting schools and churches across the greater Tucson area.
His charm and experience is a valuable asset to our organization.


Maryellen Hawkinson
ACSTO Coordinator

Maryellen has been an active ACSTO coordinator for many, many years,
working with schools and churches across the valley.
As these schools and churches can tell you, her warm, friendly
personality is only matched by how extremely helpful she is.


Data Verification Specialist

Jeanette has filled many hats during her nine years at ACSTO. She checks for accurate data processing and is also part of our team who provides ACSTO customer service to our donors, parents, and schools, helping to ensure that everyone has a wonderful experience with our organization. 


Application Specialist

Merilyn is enjoying her fifth year working for ACSTO. While she specializes in processing our student's scholarship applications, Merilyn is eager to help with virtually anything that is needed. Her wit and smile cheers the office every day.


Data Entry Specialist

Leah has proven her prowess in all things, from problem-solving to creativity to the telling of a hilarious story. Our Data Entry Specialists help with donation and application data entry, provide ACSTO customer service, and help with general office tasks.
